I have now lost track of how many times I've watched this episode. Mira's so good in it and I just can't seem to get enough.

As superb of an actress as I knew she was, Mira completely blew me away with her performance. She reached down just that little bit deeper and then kicked it up one more level. What scares/thrills me, is that I'm now convinced that we have not yet seen everything this lady is capable of. I look forward in anticipation.

Watch her eyes in the closeup/fade out at the end of her first scene. Few actresses are capable of conveying that much, even if given three pages of dialog and 15 minutes to do it in. Mira expressed it all in less than 15 seconds without saying a word and with virtually no change of facial expression.

Pay careful attention to her body language, it is so seemingly effortless, seamless, unconscious and yet discloses so very much. Sometimes it is so subtle that I have to wonder if it is deliberate, and yet always so very "spot on" to what she's portraying at that moment that I know it must be intentional. Note Mira's stance during the first moments of Delenn's first private meeting with Neroon, it's a classic defensive posture that shows him she will fight him if that is what he wants. Delenn needs him to know that she is not afraid of him, but that she does respect his strength and is ready for any confrontation. It's brilliant.

=============

I'm been reading a lot of complaints about John and Delenn not being together and in response to that I posted the following on one of the Pathfinder Boards.

I do enjoy John and Delenn together. Some of their relationship has fueled a major portion of my fantasy life.... but we will not go there. However, I feel that Mira Furlan is far far too fantastic of an actress to spend the rest of the series playing simply the romantic lead for Bruce Boxleitner. This woman has as an actress incredible range and depth, and I for one would feel short changed if we did not get to see her stretch her talents as far as she possibly can. She does wonderful things with the romantic stuff, for sure, the proof of that is how many of us are hung up on John and Delenn as a romantic couple. But my goodness what she has done in the last two episodes!!! I wouldn't give that up for two weddings and a night of Woo Hoo.
