From "Grey 17 Is Missing" - Part One

As John finishes congratulating Delenn on becoming Ranger One, she's warm and soft in his arms and looking deep into his eyes. Mira is relaxed, her posture not at all stiff. He releases her from his grasp and walks away, she turns to watch him go. Smiling softly, a woman in love, she turns and begins to step lightly up the other corridor. Neroon's voice brings her up short.

"Congratulations Delenn." Mira's shoulders come back as she turns in response to the voice, her eyes narrow. Delenn's chin is up, she is cautious, but not afraid and she steps towards him, slowly but deliberately.

Standing facing Neroon, but not quite square on, her left hip and shoulder are angled in towards him, and her weight is slightly more on one foot than the other. Mira's arms are down by her side, elbows slightly bent, fists almost clenched. Tension. Delenn is ready for a fight.

The camera has a closeup shot of Delenn's face as she listens to Neroon, her head tilted slightly to one side. There is no change of expression or movement until he says "we were quite tolerant" at which she shakes her head slightly and her mouth tightens, and her chin drops for just a moment. You can almost hear Delenn thinking "Tolerant my a**". It's an extremely subtle series of gestures on Mira's part, almost subliminal.

The expression on her face is now grimmer as she begins the line "You violated that law when the....."

We come back to a close up on Mira's face, her chin is now up, in defiance. As Neroon says "and created a vacuum of power" her eyes flicker slightly and her lips part. Delenn knows what he says is true, it's almost as if she's been caught out. Neroon continues, "As an eminent leader in the religious caste you plan to take command of a military force and fill that vacuum yourself."

The camera returns to Delenn's face and she's looking ever grimmer her brow knits together and she shakes her head softly a number of times as she says "I have no desire to rule our people."

Neroon threatens and as the camera again returns to her face her head is tilted to one side. "Or...?" she asks and the movement of her head continues in the direction it is tilted.

"I am sworn to stop you by any and all means necessary." She's immobilized by the threat, and I have no doubt from the look in her eyes that she knows he means to kill her.

We hear Lennier call her name and for the first time since Neroon appeared in the scene Delenn takes her eyes off him, as she turns to Lennier. Delenn has been starring Neroon down and also is unwilling to trust him enough to take her eyes off him. Mira did not look away from John Vickery's face at any time while she was on camera - very effective. I was so impressed when I realized this.

When Delenn turns back to where Neroon was standing her face opens up and her expression is one of disbelief and bewilderment - he is gone. Vanished like a wraith. She looks back to Lennier for confirmation that the warrior was there, and getting none turns back to where she last saw Neroon. The corridor is empty and a small doubt creeps into her mind as to whether he was ever really there.
