I don't think I've ever seen Mira look more beautiful. She is the picture of a woman who is all filled up with love, and that love is spilling out on to those she comes in contact with. Radiant does not begin to describe the way she looks.

Friday I chose to sit in the auditorium and catch the couple of talks that she did, rather that attempt the hell that was the autograph lines. She was asked, of course, when in December she was due, what the sex of the child was and if they'd picked out any names, but declined to answer, so officially I don't know anything more on that subject that I did before VOR.

I did meet Goran on Friday and he is very charming, and much better looking than I would have thought from seeing his photos on the web. We had a brief conversation and I said something about being the crazy lady who drove everywhere to see Mira at which point he asked my name. When I told him he stood up with outstretched hand and said something about being pleased to meet me that left me with the definite impression that he knew exactly who I was, which was very nice. A couple of other comments he made to me leant to that impression too. I could be wrong, but I enjoyed the moment. Unfortunately, I didn't have the presence of mind at the time to tell him that I was almost as big a fan of his as I am of Mira's. We did have a very pleasant conversation, however, and I'd very much like to meet him again.

Mira arrived on Saturday just after noon. I'd been standing in the autograph line since about 10:00 a.m. since I didn't want to take the chance that I'd miss her and with the horror of the Friday autograph session I thought it likely that I'd only get one chance to see her. She just looked up and said "It's you!" which brightened my mood considerably. I got her to autograph the still I had found from "When Father Was Away on Business", which prompted an interesting reaction from her, and she commented that a lot of time had passed. Unfortunately the situation was far from ideal for her, where she was sitting the music was overly loud and distorted and I could tell that she was very stressed and frazzled, and very overwhelmed. I can't help but think that the whole event must have been hard on her. Thankfully, very shortly thereafter she was moved much further up the building to a spot that was better lit and not nearly so bombarded with noise and hoards of people.

Later that day I was talking to an artist (Douglas Shuler) who has done some really fabulous drawings and prints of some of the B5 stars. I was drooling over his, as yet unfinished portrait of Mira, of which I badly want a print when it's finished. He's managed to capture her face and her spirit so beautifully. He mentioned that she had not yet seen it and would I like to take it over for her to have a look at. Needless to say I jumped at the chance. Mira's autograph line had dwindled down to a manageable level, so I went through the line and showed her Doug's version of herself, which she appeared to like very much. "It's wonderful" she commented, I agreed. As I walked away to return it to Doug, she called after me "Thank you." Gracious, as always, warm and gracious.

Sunday she looked absolutely stunning in a low cut crushed green velvet top, it's a fabulous color on her. I'd been getting all the casts autographs on the back and the front of my program, so I braved the autograph line again and got her to sign and personalize it. She did - it still amazes me that she can spell my name correctly, I have clients I've had for ten years who still insist on spelling it with an i rather than a y. She put her pen down and looked up, "How are you?", she asked. I told her I was fine and commented that she looked absolutely beautiful. "I'm growing every day", she said softly. I told her that it was obvious that it agreed with her.

She's happy, and I wouldn't have missed seeing her this happy for anything in the world. I'm also very glad that I had the opportunity to say congratulations in person, it was important to me to do that. For those two reasons alone this convention was worth it for me, but I very much doubt that I'd ever go to another event organized by these people.

Oh, and even though I did not drive to this convention, I still managed to put 1400 miles on the rental car, just about the distance from Toronto to Dallas. <g>
